About Spain
Spain is a country located in Southwestern Europe, with a rich history and culture. It's known for its beautiful beaches, delicious food, and vibrant cities.
Flamenco dancing, bullfighting, and tapas are just a few of the things that Spain is famous for.

The main sightseeings of Spain are concentrated mainly in Barcelona, Madrid, Sevilla and Valencia. At the same time, Barcelona is a more popular destination among tourists than the capital of the country. And there is an explanation for this. In Barcelona is located one of the largest seaports in Europe, and the genius Antonio Gaudi lived and worked here; his architectural masterpieces attract millions of tourists every year.

Reasons to film in Spain
In recent years, Barcelona became a filming location for a large number of commercials and TV series. Despite the pandemic, in 2022, the city hosted 2,773 national and international productions, according to data from the Barcelona Film Commission (BFC).

Spain has always been a popular destination among filmmakers and travel show makers (e.g., The Game of Thrones, BBC’s Planet Earth). There are numerous famous landmarks that you could’ve seen on TV: The Alhambra in Granada, Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, The Royal Palace of Madrid or The Mezquita-Catedral de Córdoba.
Spain film permits
Obtaining film location permits in Spain can be made easier with a clear understanding of the process of the purpose and place you’re going to film:

Public Spaces: General filming on streets, sidewalks, or parks requires a permit from the local municipality or film office. Fees are usually reasonable unless extensive space or disruption is involved.

Traffic Disruption: Filming on roads and impacting traffic requires an additional permit from the relevant traffic department and police authority.

Coastal Filming: Basic filming above the shoreline requires the municipal permit. Beaches have additional requirements from coastal departments or environmental authorities.

Private Property: Permission from the landowner is always necessary for filming on private land or buildings, regardless of any municipal permits.

Waterways and Drones: Filming near lakes, rivers, or using drones requires approvals from the water department or environmental office. Restrictions exist due to pest control or birdlife protection.

You should apply for the permits at least 10 days before filming, and if you are planning to film in Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia or any other city in Spain, Eventravel is here to help! How we filmed several travel shows in Barcelona, Valencia and Ibiza

First, we had an experience to film in all iconic places of Barcelona such as Camp Nou, Sagrada Familia, La Rambla and Montjuïc. Moreover, we had orginised shootings of the unique Catalan experience - Casteller. Filming was not complete without the preparation of paella and the famous beer fest in Poble Espanyol.

In Valencia, we agreed filming in the territory of City of Arts and Sciences and training of traditional sports in this area - pelota valenciana.

We created a logistic solution and got permissions to film more than 20 locations for different crews.
